Cheer

At DMGC, we offer two exciting cheer options for athletes—whether your child wants to be part of a team with optional performances or just take a fun class to build cheer skills.

Our Recreational Cheer Program is a high-energy, fun, and supportive program designed for athletes who want to experience the excitement of cheerleading—without the demands of competitive travel.

Whether your child is brand new to cheer or already has experience, this program builds strong fundamentals, develops new skills, and provides opportunities to perform in a positive, team-focused environment.

❓ Who is this program for?
Athletes of all levels—from beginners to advanced—who want to be part of a cheer team, practice weekly, and learn stunting, tumbling, jumps, and dance, without the heavy time and financial commitment of all-star competitive cheer. Starting at age 5.

❓ What does the weekly schedule look like?

  • Practice: Once a week for 2 hours (attendance is important since stunting requires a full team).

  • Tumbling class: 1 hour per week, optional but encouraged to build and advance skills.

❓ What does the season include?

  • At least 3 performances/competitions throughout the season.

  • End-of-season showcase.

  • As the program grows, we’ll create separate teams by level so athletes can learn more advanced skills.

❓ What will athletes learn?
Stunting (with focus on safety/technique), choreography & dance, tumbling skills, jumps, and flexibility training.

❓ What do athletes wear to practice?
Cheer shorts, tank or t-shirt, cheer shoes (available at most athletic stores), hair pulled back for safety.

❓ What do athletes wear to performances?
Coordinating shirts, shorts, and bows will be provided so the team has a uniform look.

❓ Why choose Recreational Cheer?
Your child will have fun in a spirited, team environment, gain confidence and performance skills, build friendships, and develop strength, coordination, and flexibility in a safe, structured setting.

Our cheerleading classes teach the fundamentals of cheer in a fun, energetic, and non-competitive environment. Athletes will learn motions, jumps, basic stunting, tumbling, and simple routines while building confidence, coordination, and teamwork.

Level 1 Cheer classes are for students age 5-12
